Guiding kids

to put their

trust in Jesus.

The first stop for all children (ages infant through fifth grade) is our check-in desk:

  • First, we will get some basic information from you about your kid and provide you with a sticker for your child. A corresponding sticker is given to the parent or guardian of the child during check-in. You and your child must wear the sticker provided during check-in to gain entry to the children’s area.
  • This sticker contains a unique series of numbers and letters.  All adults must be wearing this corresponding sticker in order to gain entry into the children’s area and to pick up your kid during or after church.
  • If you’re needed during worship, the last four digits of your mobile phone will posted on the digital screens above the exit signs in the main worship center or we will text your mobile phone.

Each week elementary-age kids participate in a high-energy age-appropriate time of worship with live singers, engaging video graphics and Biblically sound lyrics. We want OBCKids to sing about the goodness of God and His word during the week, not just on Sunday! The music that your kids sing every week in OBCKids is available for you to stream for FREE on Spotify. Now your family can listen at home or on the road to music that we use in worship every week! If you already have Spotify, just search for the profile “obckidzone” and then look for the playlist “OBCKids Songs” or click the “Spotify” link at the bottom of this page.

BIG ROOM

The place where kids hear the incredible true story of how God made them and loves them is called “Big Room” because it’s in a big room! We plan a full service for your children that includes Bible stories, songs, games, and, best of all, time for prayer and discussion with your child’s small group leader.

Each story contains what we call the “Bottom Line.” It’s the single truth about God that we want kids to remember and think about in the upcoming week.

SMALL GROUPS

After Big Room, kids head to small groups based on age and gender (1st grade boys, 1st grade girls, etc.) where they’ll participate in activities that reinforce the Bottom Line.

We believe a consistent environment is best for kids, so we encourage your children to attend the same hour each week. They will make friends and have the same small group leaders.

Did you know that OBC has a Sunday morning group designed especially for kids with special needs?

MORE INFORMATION

Friendship Kids is designed to create a loving,
safe environment where kids with special needs can
grow spiritually, physically, and socially.

We handle the details of Friendship Kids based on the individual child. Our staff always looks to serve families and kids with special needs in the best way we can.  Sometimes that means in a separate environment, and sometimes that means with a buddy in our elementary classes.

If you have a child who would participate in this ministry or if you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact us.

FAQ

WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN IN OBC KIDS?

The Bible is the most amazing book ever written and we strive to bring its stories to life through creative activities and discussions that keep kids engaged. We want every child to love God's Word and understand the value of applying it to their lives. We know they'll have fun each week as they learn about who God is through games, activities, small groups, and teaching.

HOW DOES OBC KIDS ENSURE MY CHILD IS SAFE AND SECURE?

At OBCKids, safety is one of our highest priorities. That's why we have a secure check-in system. Upon check-in, you'll receive matching identification stickers. Your child will need to wear their name tag sticker and you will need to keep the matching tag. After the service, you'll show the OBCKids leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from their room.

Every OBCKids volunteer leader is screened, participates in a background check, and receives appropriate training from our staff. Additionally, our hallways are monitored by background-checked security during each experience to make sure your child stays safe and secure.

In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we can either send you a text message or post the last four digits of your mobile number on the screen in the auditorium.
